Kaoru Yahata 1st Photobook: Smell sweet (八幡カオル写真集)
$40.00 AUD
Famous for her hilarious parodies of prominent politicians and AKB48 idols, comedian Kaoru Yahata strips away the comedy props for her very first, completely self-published solo photobook, "Smell sweet".
Spanning 86 pages of full-color photography, this strange passion project captures Kaoru leaving it all on the table. Shot during the final year of her 30s, the collection ranges from genuinely sweet beachside swimwear glances and everyday casual snaps to unexpected, bold, and sultry glamour shots. Of course, it wouldn't be a Kaoru Yahata project without some of her iconic parody expressions hidden throughout.
Whether you are a die-hard comedy fan, an indie subculture collector, or just curious to see what famously made AKB48's Minami Minegishi jokingly react with "I'm kind of disheartened...", this incredibly rare indie book is a must-have conversation piece.
