G Version III is the moniker of a Kyoto-based DJ and electronic music producer who is carving out a highly distinct niche within the global underground dub and sound system culture. Influenced early on by a formative experience at a lake-side sound clash, her style balances a deep reverence for traditional Jamaican roots, dancehall history, and 80s/90s UK steppers with an esoteric, retro-futuristic edge. She has steadily gained international acclaim through avant-garde, bass-centric releases on esteemed experimental labels like Riddim Chango and Good Morning Tapes.

At its core, the cassette serves as the highly anticipated fourth installment of the Kyoto-based Sixth Garden Records mixtape series. Eschewing traditional multi-artist DJ curation, this physical-only tape is a dedicated showcase consisting strictly of G Version III's own original productions, including rare, previously unreleased live material tracked during her performance at the "Tokyo DUB ATTACK" event.

The album masterfully executes a sonic concept best described as "gothic meets Jah spirit". It weaves a dark, emotional web of minor-key FM synth lines and eerie, haunting melodies that glide effortlessly over heavy, spatial soundscapes and subterranean bass frequencies designed to push sound systems to their limits.

The rhythms lean heavily into structured, hypnotic stepper territory. The percussion builds incrementally over the course of the 50-minute runtime, shifting from slow, echo-drenched digital dub grooves into a punishing, rhythmic stepper momentum towards the end that grounds the tape’s cosmic elements in sheer dancefloor weight.

The texture is deeply atmospheric, raw, and unvarnished, perfectly capturing the physical voltage of an underground Japanese dub dancehall. Packaged with striking, custom artwork designed by the artist Zodiak, the release remains strictly a tape-only affair with no digital streaming distribution available.
